This island is one of the largest islands of the lake Orumieh, located to the east of which and covering an area of about 3,175 hectares.

The civilization of this area dates back to the 4 millennium BC. This spring is in north of Ebne Babvaih and to the west of cement factory of Ray.

The province of West Azarbayjan has the largest lake of Iran in its territory, known as Lake Orumieh. This lake is at an altitude of 1,267 m

The River Kloy or Zaab takes its sources in the heights of the Maidan Gorge 2,140 m

.This river originates from the mountains of Chehel Cheshmeh of Kurdestan
